Etiquette guide
What to wear on a casino hotel floor
Dress codes at integrated casino hotels range from relaxed daytime rules to formal evening expectations. Packing the right layers helps you move from lobby lounges to gaming salons without surprises at the door.
Smart casual baseline
For many large resorts, clean trousers, closed shoes, and a collared shirt or equivalent are a safe default. Avoid beachwear, flip-flops, and gym clothes outside pool areas.
Formal evening properties
Historic European salons and certain VIP rooms may require jackets and dress shoes after sunset. When in doubt, carry a blazer and check the operator’s published rules online.
Regional differences
- Las Vegas — generally relaxed on the main floor; upscale restaurants set their own standards.
- Monaco — lean formal for evening casino areas.
- Macau — business-casual is common; premium rooms may be stricter.
